Break the Boundary

I am trying to break the boundary – to transform a traditional two-dimensional photograph works into a three-dimensional works. Moreover, I will attach some imagery item to every individual photography works so as to create influence to the photography itself. Additionally, in this work, I attempt to use one item to map out a two-dimensional photography, and in order to have an effect of breaking the boundary of dimensional limitation in photography. Yet, the problem of elections of item as well as photography are on a conceptual level.

All of the photos are shot under a lunar module, which implicate people in nowadays used to be trapped in the circumstances that made by themselves. More, the photography indicates that designers may be blockaded in their past works subconsciously.

The three items that I have chose is hammer, lollipop, and sickle. They respectively indicate three diverse methods to break the boundary.

Hammer implies authority. That is to say, the power to break the boundary can be all around. More specifically, we can break the limitation through the power of reform. As for design, it is the emergence of new trend, or a creation of new technology.

While lollipop representatives the new possibility. As we younger generations are growing with absorbing new ideas and new concepts, so we will introduce the new ideas to replace the old one. Like the process of metabolism, good ideas will be passed down, yet, the obsolete concepts will be eliminated. The rule also largely utilizes in design.

Sickle indicates public opinions as well as the publics. However, it has dual character in boundary-breaking. On the one hand, it can be an assisting power to accelerate breaking through the wall. On the other hand, it may become a hinder to aggravate the dilemma. Hence, it depends on how good we can utilize the power of sickle. As design can have great effect on people passed down generations, people can make their influence on works design.

There are different colors enclose to hammer, lollipop, and sickle; they are green, red and blue respectively. The green hammer representatives safe, hope and peace, with the wish of no authority abusing. The red lollipop implies the passion and lively future. And the blue sickle is to hope that we can hope the balance between public opinion and the publics, so as to create a stable society, without any malicious manipulation. The reason that I choose these three colors is owing to the fact that they are the primary colours that can mix and crate all other colours. Thus, there is no boundary among them, the limitation and boundary are crashed to pieces.
