331 P2 Critical Perspective

In this project, I use a rabbit fairy to represent all my good wishes and good memories about the city. This white rabbit fairy also mean freedom, she live without any restrict, she free access around the city, she is always happy every day, just like a child, the city is her playground. She enjoys her life, she observes the city, and she is living with curiosity. The reason why I create a rabbit fairy is because people are too busy to live, too busy to study to study, too busy to twitter or instagram their lives to other strangers. We never learn the joy and peace of free time to just be alive, but I hope this rabbit learned.

Meanwhile, I want to talk about a book. Few decades ago, an Italian writer Italo Calvino creates a great book called ‘Invisible Cities’ --- Marco Polo who is a famous businessman, world traveler and writer described the scene of 55 cities to a great emperor Kublai Khan. In the story, history and truth was interweaved with fiction. The author applies his imagination to created 55 cities and they are so different. Some of the books bring us to see other people’s world, but the other bring us to our own world. Each time, when the book describes a city to me, my mind will separate the city, and let the pieces exchange, remove or convert, use another way to recombine the city --- It become my city.
